Workshop Description:
This is a practical workshop for digital SLR users, who want to take their night photography to the next level.  The class will begin with a review of manual camera controls and an introduction on how to set up your camera & tripod.

Shooting around Cairns city and waterfront, students will be introduced to creative techniques for shooting during the  “golden hour” – when the late afternoon light transitions to dusk and evening. You will learn how to expose for the changing light, how to create cityscapes after dark, and how to incorporate flash for creative effect.  The use of filters, cable releases and tripods will also be covered.

Students should have a digital SLR, tripod and a general understanding of the DSLR basics.  A cable release (cable remote) and/or external flash (eg. Speedlite) would also be advantageous, though not essential.
